solo project by Pavel Mikheev (dadazu, eject), musician-multiinstrumentalist and sound-engineer, last 10 years working with sound experiments
Played with such musicians as Dok Gregory (Amoeba Technoogy, Psychic tv), Peter Principle (Tuxedomoon), Dmitriy Kahovskiy, Rhys Chatham, Alexey Pliousnine and many other. He performed in New-York, Helsinki, Moscow, Smolensk, Novgorod, Pskov, Altay mountains, island in Ladoga sea, forest in Karelia and Сarpatian.
General idea of od1n is creating musical texture by one person, using only real-time sampling technology, without any prepared samples, producing "now here music", using anything that come from the space - it can be guitar, drumset, broken grandpiano, etnic instruments, effect-pedals, analog synthesiser, pieсe of wood, bottle with water, iron sheet, dryed plants, damaged CD or vinyl. Any therms meaning some styles and genres doesnt make any sense. Process is everything, result is nothing. od1n is building strange and fragile-looking sound structure, but it has a hard core inside.
