schnellertollermeier (Швейцария)

David Meier, Andi Schellmann, Manuel Troller

After two years of studying, traveling and playing in Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Norway, the swiss drummer David Meier has decided to take his power trio schnellertollermeier on a tour through Scandinavia and Finland. Half way between free improvisation, hardcore jazz and brute rock, schnellertollermeier plays music without compromise. Their style defies genre boundaries with instrumental power. Their latest record „ZORN EINEN EHMER ÜTTERT STEM!!“ (veto records) is little about quiet, and a lot about anger, silliness and precision and has gotten exited reviews from Switzerland, Germany and France. This young trio sounds like classic literature, where you have to keep on re-reading a sentence until you understand. But when you have finally understood, you understand a lot more...

david meier (born 1985 in Escholzmatt) likes to play in very different musical settings; free improvised music with the trio „Things to Sounds“ (which he is co-leading), punkish folk with the international Trio „Aaargh!“, acoustic chambermusic with the Belgium-based Quartet „Tree House“, or complex compositions with his own ensemble „Hunter-Gatherer“ (which got invited to the Jazzwerkstatt Bern 2011 Festival). He has studied drums at the Swiss Jazz School in Bern with Billie Brooks and Pierre Favre. And in 2011 he finished a two-year Master program in different schools in Scandinavia.
Recent collaborations include a trio with Danish saxophonist Lotte Anker and French bass player Brice Soniano. David is currently based in Berlin.

andi schnellmann (born 1984 in Lucerne) has become a very sought-after session player for all kinds of pop/rock projects. His playing can be heard on already more than 15 records. He is also a very busy sideman - he has been touring Switzerland and Europe with Sophie Hunger, Caroline Chevin, Monotales, Rickenbacher, Serpentine and Henrik Belden. Andi plays in a variety of more experimental groups such as schnellertollermeier, Kobayashi and Endstation. He studied at the Jazzschool Lucerne with Heiri Känzig, Wolfgang Zwiauer, Jan Schlegel and others. Sometimes he also works as a sound technician and as a bass teacher.

manuel troller (born 1986 in Lucerne) He was voted „culture head“ (nr. 14) by the “Kulturmagazin” from Lucerne in 2009. He toured Festivals and Clubs around Europe with Sophie Hunger and is featured on her latest album „1984“. Additionally he plays in Duo and Trio with reeds player Christoph Erb, plays in Vincent Glanzmann's Kobayashi and a recently formed Improv Quartet with Christian Weber, Julian Sartorius and Martin Baumgartner. He is currently studying for a Master's degree at the Jazzschool Lucerne with Frank Möbus, Fred Frith, Roberto Bossard and Christy Doran.
